Installation replaces onboard presets and global settings. NAMLNK29 revision 2 fills all seven editable colors by repeating the three licensed RiffSmith captures. Earlier NAMLNK28 and NAMLNK23 builds start with three colors. Installation →
Get the NUX firmware
- Open the official Mighty Plug Pro product page ↗. Go to Support → Firmwares.
- Download V3.0.5 for macOS from NUX ↓. This ZIP contains the verified Original file and can be extracted on other computers too. Choose the Original image, not

Seven starter colors. Ready to edit.
ORANGE
RiffSmith Bass Clean
RED
RiffSmith Distorted
MIT-licensed captures by Matt Hartman / RiffSmith. Each uses its 48 kHz A2 Lite component with the cabinet included. The initial chains run NAM only; add effects in either controller. NAMLNK29 r2 repeats Clean in Green/Blue/Lilac, Bass Clean in Orange/Cyan, and Distorted in Red/Pink. All seven are editable. Older builds populate the first three colors only. The current phone controller supports NAMLNK12–29 and shows only supported controls. Use Mac 0.6.1 or later with NAMLNK29; independent lane controls are currently on the phone. Firmware changes are optional and installed with the NUX updater on a computer. Installing an earlier version also replaces presets and settings.
Install with the NUX updater
- Save the generated firmware and build report. Keep your original NUX file. Installation replaces all seven onboard preset slots and global settings, so export any presets you want to keep first.
- Verify that the device is a Mighty Plug Pro. Unplug headphones and connect a USB data cable. Close other plug controllers.
- Power off, then hold PRESET while powering on. In blinking-blue update mode, open NUX Device Updater and choose
mighty-nam-NAMLNK29-experimental.binwith Select File…. - Click Start Update. Keep USB connected. Wait for explicit success before touching POWER or RESET. Then restart with POWER only, without PRESET.
- Open the Mac app or phone controller in normal mode. Check the NAMLNK29 identity and seven starter colors on NAMLNK29 revision 2 (three on older builds). Keep the headphone volume low for first listening.
- PRESET cycles the seven starter colors on NAMLNK29 r2 (three on older builds). To edit one: choose a color, load an A2 Lite capture, edit its effects and Save to plug. Verify your saved colors after restarting.

The starter variant passed offline cold-boot, button-cycle, model-accuracy and callback tests. Earlier looper variants have limited device validation; this NAMLNK29 starter variant has not been physically tested. Recovery requires a reachable updater and is not guaranteed.

Included in NAMLNK29
Includes 48 kHz A2 Lite NAM with input/output gain, bass/middle/treble and mix; Pitch from −12 to +12 semitones; improved Daisy-derived Auto Wah; 30-second recording, optional lower-bandwidth 60-second recording, up to three independent overdub lanes, one-edit undo/redo, physical button gestures and a live threshold meter. Compatible with Mac 0.6.1+ and phone 0.10.1+. The phone supports independent lane controls; Mac supports existing transport and settings. Loops are lost on power-off. Threshold, level and duration apply live; Save looper settings stores them after the loop is cleared. New loop settings default to −50 dB and 100% level; lower levels remain adjustable. These new starter presets pass offline checks; this exact combined release still needs hardware testing.
All lanes share the same recording memory. A full 30/60-second base leaves no space for independent overdubs. To use three lanes and re-edit a lane with undo, keep the base slightly under 6 seconds (30 s mode) or 12 seconds (60 s mode). The phone reports capacity. NAMLNK28 keeps its earlier merged overdub behavior; NAMLNK23 r2 has no looper.
